Box girder shuttering is a temporary formwork system used to shape, support, and hold freshly poured concrete until it hardens into a box girder — a hollow, rectangular or trapezoidal-shaped beam commonly used in bridges, flyovers, and elevated metro lines.
It forms the entire structural profile of the box girder, including the:
Bottom slab
Side webs (walls)
Top slab (deck)
Internal hollow core
